The so called ‘new normal’ is a phrase people started using everywhere and it became a cliché in our daily life.
The COVID epidemic, lockdown regulation and the wearing of facemasks has created a completely new environment that we are not use to.
We realize that things will never be as it were before, and everything will be completely new.

#newnormal
New normal.
Surrounded by uncertainty, it is okay to admit that things are not normal. It is okay not to be comfortable with what is going on.
The phrase ‘New Normal’ has not worked for many people and creates an uncertainty with many questions about themselves, the future and about life.
- The ‘New Normal’ should not be the lens through which we examine the world.
- The questions that we can ask ourselves is what have really change?
We stand up in the morning, shower, have breakfast, prepare for work, and start with the days work. The only big difference is that we mostly work from home now. But practically it is still the same. We can go to friends and family, to the gym, do shopping but only with a mask and social distancing.
“The only big difference is that we mostly work from home now.”
What have really changed? Let us be honest. The questions about the day of tomorrow have always been there. What have we really been certain of, of the day of tomorrow? The financial uncertainty has always been there. The question if we are going to have a work tomorrow have previously been there. The concern about our health has been there if we are really honest with ourselves. The question where to from here have always been there.
So, let us ask ourselves: “What about all these questions people asks, are new?” Aren’t we now openly confronted with the questions we always had?
What is New in the ‘New Normal’?
We should rather revel in the discomfort of the current moment to generate a ‘new paradigm’, not a ‘new normal’. Feeling unsettled, destabilized and alone can help us empathize with individuals who have faced systematic exclusions long-ignored by society even before the rise of COVID-19 — thus stimulating urgent action to improve their condition. For these communities, things have never been ‘normal’.
